Black is the Colour

from Folk for the New Aeon by NeoElph

/

about

Darkwave pads flow into downtempo chillout beats with ghastly breaths & voicings overlaid. The song was first collected by English folk music archivist, Cecil Sharp, who notated and recorded it during
a 1916 trip to North Carolina, which he then published in his English Folk Songs of the Southern Appalachians (1917). Many different versions of this song exist, some addressed to women and others addressed to men,
as well as other differences.
